White on Black Defines A New Hair Color Trend

If you haven’t noticed there are some new hair color trends out there. When I first saw a new version of a white on black hair coloring, well let me just say it wasn’t especially memorable. But just as it takes a creative to bring to light new hair colors, once the idea is out there, others will go with it and turn it into something all together new again.

What blows me away about this trend, black on white is that in subtle variations on the technique, the identity of the wearer is dramatically changed. First and foremost this white on black hair colorsolicits stares, demands attention and is altogether striking. What it portrays of the wearer after that, has all to do with the placement of hair color and the style of the haircut. Romantic, rockzilla, original, sophisticated, magical, witchy or punked-out are just some of the adjectives that would equally describe the artful and colorful wearer of this new hair color trend.

The new cool hair coloring of platinum or bright ivory with hints of dark gray hair color and black defines this look. I’ve noticed all the hairstyles I’ve seen this striking hair color combination on, have been on healthy, shiny, smoothed out hair styles. The smooth shiny texture adds to the mystique and beauty of this look. (To wear this hairstyle on dry frizzy dry hair brings to mind the wild woman look, as with the wigged out, white on black hair that Madeline Kahn wore in Young Frankenstein.)
